Remember those evenings BC (thats, Before Child) when you used to get ready for a big night out with your girls; music on, glasses of rose flowing, make-up spilling everywhere and swapping application tips. How much fun were they?? These days we’re more likely to be found desperately trying to scrawl on an eye-liner with a child eating a blusher brush balanced on one knee. But typically, it’s when you become a mum that you REALLY need your concealer to live up to expectations, your foundation to last all day and your illuminating primer (you don’t use one? You will!) to well, actually illuminate. Here’s a little vid of what we use on a daily basis – tried, tested and mum face friendly.
Ok, so the trick to getting your make-up to last and it not getting eaten by your face by 3pm is in a primer. Gemma has obviously been listening to everything that I say (have you?!) because she whipped the Becca Eye Brightening Corrector out of her make-up bag that I bang on and on about! It not only brightens the dark area under your eyes, meaning your concealer has less of a tough time on it’s hands, it helps it to stay in place all day. Because botox is a no no during pregnancy and the forehead wrinkles are getting worse than ever, I’ve been trying Revlon’s new Youth FX Fill and Blur Primer for Forehead – hello, botox in a bottle – which goes on a bit like pva glue (odd) but actually does a good job as smoothing the area.
On Gemma’s Face:
