A fashion, beauty and lifestyle destination for people short on time.

It’s my job to try out all of the beauty products in the world in order to know what works and what doesn’t, so I pretty much thought that I had everything covered. Then I had Leo, and it opened my eyes to a whole new world of skincare. The world of baby products is quite tricky, a lot has been made of in the news in terms of scare stories when it comes to ingredients. My best advice is to keep it simple. I’ve discovered some amazing products over the last two years, but surprisingly they’re not just for Leo. There are a few that have slipped over into my side of the bathroom cupboard, they’re just that good. With summer holidays coming up, you might want to read this. Sharing products with your babe could save you a lot of space in your suitcase…

WHEN YOU HAVE A SPOT…
I discovered this during my maternity leave days. Gone were the fancy spot creams (my hormonal skin had used them all up) and with one of those major under-the-skin, lumpy breakouts on the horizon and no energy to gather a screaming babe and head for the nearest high street I decided to try a dab of Leo’s Sudocrem. It works almost immediately when he has a sore, red bum so I checked the ingredients – antiseptic and blemish calming zinc – and gave it a go. It worked. Overnight the redness had calmed down and within a couple of days of using it, my spots were gone. I’d advise you do this at night though. It’s pretty white (!), oily and I wouldn’t imagine it sits well under make-up. NB: Use the tube, not the pot. Way more hygienic!
WHEN YOU HAVE ANNOYING DRY PATCHES OF SKIN….
I get these little dry patches of skin quite often, probably due to the fact that I don’t have time to moisturise my body these days. LOL, remember when we used to have time for that?! Anyway, I used this Childs Farm Moisturiser for Sensitive and Eczema Prone Skin on Leo during the winter when he was getting badly chapped patches of skin so last week I decided to give it a go on me and it worked a treat. It contains tea-tree and grapefruit so it smells amazing too. A great one to take on holiday to sort out irritated, summer skin. NB: This is also fab (yes, it’s nappy cream but thanks to the soothing chamomile it does a brilliant skin-soothing job.)
WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF FANCY SHOWER GEL…
When you can barely to remember to Ocado some bread and wet wipes, the chances that you’ll remember to stock up on shower gel for yourself are quite slim.

The entire Kiehls baby range is dreamy but this Gentle Hair and Body Wash is particularly gorgeous. I get anxious when I see new mums using certain products on their new babies skin but this is so gentle, there’s no harsh ingredients and even if it gets in Leo’s eyes when we wash his hair, it doesn’t sting. I’m just about on the cusp of being able to steer Leo away from the neon Peppa Pig bubbles, so I’m enjoying this simple, clean-smelling scent for as long as I can.
WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF LIPBALM…
There’s nothing like finding that perfect lip balm, right? The one that saturates your lips with moisture and leaves them silky smooth after it’s worn off? When you have a baby, suddenly your lips become super dry but the thing with lipbalm is that you can never locate one when you need it. Well, you will now! You know that half used up tube of nipple cream knocking around? Try it. The key ingredient in any lipbalm is lanolin, and Lansinoh contains stacks of it. Try Dr Lipp too – a nipple/lipbalm that has reached such cult status not only amongst celebrity mama’s but among their make-up artists too. Plus, it looks a bit fancier when you pull it out of your handbag on the commute to work.
WHEN YOU CUT YOURSELF SHAVING…

Excellent audio by @femalephysioco ❤️
Ughh part 1 chopped off the end, so here is part 2!
TIM TESTS: Shall we make this a thing?! I forgot 2 important things, it's £40 and from @riverisland (I'll link it on Stories.) I struggle with fast fashion and try SO hard not to buy it or wear it, but sometimes bits creep in and I find it hard to resist. I know I'll wear it loads 🙏🏻 Let me know what you think ❤️

My baby 💙 is seven. My Alpha. My human paradox; tiny action man, duracell bunny, social butterfly, grey hair giver yet also the king of snuggles, great with old people and his happy place is sat gently cuddling babies.

We’ve been sharing a bedroom for the last three months, and without fail at 4am every morning he gets into my (single) mattress (on the floor) and cuddles me. Cute. A bit squished, a bit cute. Forever my baby but he’s not really anymore is he….?

Lots of you have been here since before he was born. I obviously spent last night looking at pictures of birthdays gone by. This feels like the middle mothering sweet spot? Out of the early, exhausting & all encompassing stage where they rely on us for every tiny thing while not at the teen angsty drama stage yet. Where we can fully enjoy it. I’m making a mental note to embrace it 🤍

It doesn’t matter how expensive your serum is, or how viral it went on the internet; if you aren’t properly cleansing then anything you apply can’t do your job properly.

We’ve both been trialling @beautypie Happy Face De-stress Jelly Cleanser for the last six weeks. Actually. Pet-peeve: when people say they have been but have only used it once. Check our stories to see when we first got it. It works for both of us - and our different skin types. And it’s £12 for members!!!!

Let's just preface this with:

These work for me, I've done some research over the months and they all sound like they could only have a positive impact on life, but as with everything it's always worth doing your own research ✨

My youngest has been diagnosed with a chronic condition, and I don't have control over a lot of what may happen in our future but I can do the best I can with what I am in control of which is where no 2 and no 3 come into play.

Ok let's go!

1. Splashing my face with water 30 times: So far I can only get up to 12 times without feeling like my fingers will freeze off but it clears my head, can support your nervous system, is an instant mood booster, I saw @michaellabolder do it and she knows her stuff so it must be good!

2. Ditching the plastic tupperware: There is lots out of research out there about how chemicals from the plastic can leach into food, especially when it heated, and the chemicals can damage our health. I've also ditched plastic chopping boards & kitchen utensils for wood or metal.

3. Plant based cleaning products: Better for the environment, reduces indoor pollution that we breathe in, safer around kids and doesn't irritate skin. At the moment I'm using @marksandspencer laundry liquid, @miniml washing up liquid (I buy in bulk & decant) and @methoduk antibac surface cleaner.
minimling you'd add to this list?
