A fashion, beauty and lifestyle destination for people short on time.

Nothing beats our high street. You can snap up so many incredible, reasonably priced pieces but now more than ever, we need to make sure we think through our purchases to make sure they last well, can be worn with multiple outfits, and will wash well.

If you take a closer look with fabrics, stitching and zips it’s can show you if an item looks cheaper or more premium. Natural fabrics look more premium, zippers with YKK on them are generally stronger, and stitching in a straight line, with no overlaps or loose threads will ensure it lasts longer.

Here is a selection of pieces that look well made, and look way more premium than there price.

1.River Island – The chic monochromatic piping elevates this basic vest. Wear it with wide leg black linen trousers, some sandals & gold rimmed sunnies and you’ll look like an Italian woman on the Riviera!

2. & Other Stories – The heavy crochet knit, with tassel details makes this look more expensive than it is. Team it with a simple t shirt, or dress it up for an occasion with a strappy silk cami and some heels.

3. Albaray – So much more than a black bandeau. The shirred detail runs all over the front and back (sign of a well made piece) and can be worn alone, or layered under a loose white shirt if you’d like more covereage.

4. River Island The beautiful soft scalloped detail, combined with the baby blue shade make this blouse look like it’s a lot pricier than it actually is. Wear it with wide legs dark denim in the style of a Chloe 70’s style icon.

5. Aligne – When purchasing a new piece it’s always worth having a closer look at the stitching & zips. The wide stitching, combined with the deep blue denim make this look like something you’d pick up in a French boutique.

6. H&M – This is made from a combination of lyocell & linen, both natural fabrics, which make it look more premium. The soft beige keeps it chic and classic. Team it with natural colours like whites & khakis for an effortless look.
